Job Description

Are you a hands-on production pro who thrives on precision and efficiency? Axios Recruitment is seeking a Slitter Machine Operator to run state-of-the-art tape converting machines. You’ll be at the heart of manufacturing—turning raw materials into precision-cut tape products used across industries.

Benefits

• Schedule: Monday to Friday 6am to 2:30pm (weekend OT available)
• Direct Hire: Candidates with direct experience running Slitter or converting machines.
• Temp to Hire: willing to consider candidates who are mechanically inclined with experience running complex machinery.
• Shift: training on 1st shift, transitioning to 2nd shift upon completion of training
• Pay: $18-20/hour with shift premium on 2nd shift

Setup & Operation:

• Configure and run converting machines—slitters, rewinders, laminators—to produce tape per job specs.
• Load raw material logs, film, or adhesives; align guides and rollers for precise cuts or rewind.

Quality & Maintenance:

• Monitor the process; perform quality checks (width, length, edges).
• Make minor adjustments (tension, guides, blades) and report issues to maintenance.
• Log production data—output, downtime, scrap—for continuous improvement.

Safety & Housekeeping:

• Follow LOTO, PPE, and machine safety protocols.
• Keep your area clean, organized, and compliant with regulatory standards.

Collaboration & Training:

• Work side-by-side with Helpers and other operators.
• Train new hires and share best practices on setup, safety, and quality.

What You Bring to the Table

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior experience in manufacturing—ideally with tape converting, slitting, cutting, or rewind equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, precision-driven environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Physical capability to stand, lift (~50 lbs), bend, and move regularly.

Work Conditions

• Environment : Manufacturing floor—quiet facility, some temperature shifts from equipment / dock doors opening and closing.
• Physical Demands : Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching. PPE required at all times.
