Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Dog Walker & Pet Sitter to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for animals and enjoy spending time outdoors while providing excellent care to our furry clients.

Availability

We’re seeking individuals with flexible availability, including the willingness to work one of the following shifts:

• Split Shifts: 7:30 AM–10:00 AM and 5:00 PM–8:00 PM, any day of the week
• Midday Shift: 9:00 AM–2:00 PM, Monday to Friday

We ask for a minimum commitment of four days per week and at least 10 hours weekly . Applicants must be able to commit to a 12-month term . Please note: seasonal or short-term availability (such as summer-only work) will not be considered.

Responsibilities

• Walk dogs of various breeds, including dogs that pull
• Ensure the safety and well-being of each pet in your care
• Provide fresh water, medication and food as needed
• Clean up after dogs during walks, clean up backyards and clean litter boxes
• Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding their pets
• Report any health or behavioral concerns to the pet owner or supervisor

Do You?

• Have experience caring for your own pets or other’s pets?
• Have a flexible schedule and can work on short notice?
• Want to work 10-20 hours per week?
• Have a reliable car with current insurance, license, and registration? Required.
• Own a smartphone with a large data plan?

Are You?

• Physically fit to walk at least 3 miles per day?
• Comfortable driving 30+ miles per day to 6 different homes? This job requires a vehicle.
• Capable of handling dogs of all breeds and sizes, including big, untrained dogs that pull?
• Willing to take online courses in animal behavior, CPR, and First Aid?
• Available to work the required 6-hour shifts during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's weeks? (These are the busiest weeks of the year for us)
• Comfortable with cleaning litter boxes, cages, pee pads, and backyard waste?

Our furry clients are primarily located in:

• Chula Vista (70%)
• Imperial Beach (20%)
• North Park (10%)

Pay Structure

1-Hour Walk:

• $17.25 for the walk
• ~$5 for drive time
• ~$4.20 gas reimbursement (tax-free)
• ~$3 in tips
• ≈ $29.45 per walk

30-Minute Walk:

• $8.63 for the walk
• ~$5 for drive time
• ~$4.20 gas reimbursement (tax-free)
• ~$3 in tips
• ≈ $20.83 per walk

Split Shift Bonus: Earn an extra $17.25 when you work both a morning and evening shift on the same day!

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.25 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 15 per week
