About the Role of Data Center Security Supervisor:

The Data Center Security Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the physical security operations at 5C’s data center facilities. This leader will manage a team of security professionals and vendor partners, enforce strict access control measures, ensure rapid and professional incident response, and uphold a culture of vigilance and customer service. The ideal candidate will have a background in customer service, physical security, law enforcement, or the military and will be capable of leading a high-performing security team in a dynamic and mission-critical environment.

This role requires strong situational awareness, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead, schedule, and mentor a team of security personnel to maintain 24/7 coverage and adherence to post orders and security protocols.
  • Ensure all physical security policies are enforced, including access control procedures, badging, and perimeter checks.
  • Respond swiftly and effectively to all emergencies, alarms, and security breaches. Maintain clear communication during escalations.
  • Deliver onboarding and ongoing training to ensure all security personnel meet 5C’s operational and safety standards.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of incidents, shift activities, and access logs. Produce regular incident and trend reports.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party security vendors, ensuring quality of service and adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Work with internal teams and clients to understand and address specific security concerns while maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Monitor and manage use of security technologies such as surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm panels.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the data center floor, proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years of supervisory experience in a security, military, or law enforcement environment with emphasis in customer service
  • Strong understanding of physical security protocols and systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with security software systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity while handling sensitive information
  • Ability to walk, stand, and conduct patrols for extended periods
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays as needed

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in a data center or critical infrastructure environment
  • Familiarity with access control and video management systems (e.g., Lenel, Genetec)
  • CPR/First Aid and emergency response certifications
  • Experience training and developing security personnel
  • Bi-lingual or multilingual communication

WORK SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:

  • The Data Center Security Supervisor role is classified as exempt (salaried)
  • Expected to work full-time during business hours with flexible availability for shift overlap, night coverage, or emergencies
  • Will participate in the Security on-call rotation and must be available to respond during non-business hours if needed
